Ms. Rhoten currently focuses the bulk of her legal practice on civil litigation. She represents countless victims of employment discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination throughout the State of Missouri. Despite her young career, Ms. Rhoten has already achieved great outcomes for numerous clients in employment discrimination and wrongful termination cases.
Ms. Rhoten spent the majority of her law school career clerking at Hollingshead & Dudley. This unique opportunity to gain so much experience with the firm during law school allowed her to hit the ground running when she became an attorney.
In addition to representing victims of employment discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination, Mrs. Rhoten also assists with complex civil litigation cases including class actions, other civil rights cases, and defamation. She has also assisted in writing appellate briefs for the Eighth Circuit and Missouri Court of Appeals, and argued before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Ms. Rhoten tailors her approach to the needs and circumstances of each individual client that she represents, and passionately pursues justice on their behalf.
Attorney Katie Rhoten is originally from Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While attending Eastern Illinois University, Katie was a member of the Eastern Illinois University Honors College and the Delta Delta Delta sorority, where she served as Treasurer and Continuing Education Chair.
Katie went on to receive her Juris Doctor with a concentration in Civil Litigation Skills from Saint Louis University School of Law, graduating Cum Laude. She received the Law School Dean’s Scholar Award, and was a Dean’s list student. While attending SLU Law, Katie greatly enjoyed participating in, and excelled at, practical skills courses such as Moot Court, Civil Practice, and Trial Advocacy.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs. Some of her favorite activities include visiting local breweries and wineries, traveling, going on long walks with her dogs, and watching Harry Potter. Katie also has a passion for philanthropy, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Heart Association, and Partners for Pets.
